Estero Llano Grande State Park

Estero Llano Grande sits at the center of the World Birding Center network and packs a shallow lake, wetlands, and thorn forest into 230 acres of easy, flat trails. Birders have logged more than 340 species here, including the Groove-billed Ani, Altamira Oriole, and wintering waterfowl. During the season the park runs free guided bird walks led by volunteers, many of them Winter Texans themselves. Day use is $5 per adult and children 12 and under are free.
