At 1,435 sites this is one of the largest Winter Texan resorts in the Valley, run by Encore on Zillock Road in San Benito, about 45 minutes from South Padre Island. The resort bills its ballroom as one of the largest dance floors in Texas, and the dance program backs it up with line, country, swing, and ballroom lessons plus weekly dances. Beyond that: pool, whirlpool, fitness center, restaurant, shuffleboard, volleyball, tennis, pickleball, bocci ball, dog park, billiards, library, and a business center. Woodworking, stained glass, RC racing, chess club, softball, and church services round out the week. Minimum age at check-in is 55 and children are not allowed.
