Diaz Diner has been family owned and operated on East 9th Street for more than 15 years, serving Mexican and American plates at prices that have kept it on the Winter Texan rotation. Breakfast runs from 7am and the regulars point to the huevos rancheros at $9.99 and the King Ranch enchiladas that show up as a daily special. It is open until 8pm Monday through Saturday, but Sunday it closes at 2pm, so plan Sunday supper somewhere else. Portions are generous and the room is small, which means the lunch rush can put you in line.
